Year 2
Chinese New Year Celebrations
As part of our MFL Curriculum, we were able to immerse ourselves in Chinese traditions by celebrating Chinese New Year. As usual, we welcomed our friends from the Confucius Institute, who put on a magnificent show for us. In addition to learning about the Chinese New Year in our Mandarin lessons, some year groups were able to take part in workshops for dance, calligraphy and martial arts.
Year 2 took part in a calligraphy workshop!
Q2: Where would you like to explore and why?
As part of the learning for quarter 2, Year 2 delve deep into what it takes to be an explorer. So far, we have learned about what it means to explore and begun looking at explorers from around the world. They found out lots about Sir Edmund Hillary, and are really excited to learn about Matthew Henson and Felicity Aston, who travelled the Arctic and broke records!
