Following the government announcement on 22nd Feb 2021, we are delighted to confirm that children in all year groups will be returning to full time on site school on Monday 8th March. We are extremely pleased to be able to welcome everyone back on site but please take time to read the information below in order for us to be able to make this happen smoothly and safely.
Q1. Do I have to send my child back to school?
Yes. It is a legal requirement that primary children attend on site schooling from 8th March (and we are really looking forward to having them back!)
Q2. Will there still be online learning?
No. This will only be used in the case of another lockdown.
Q3.What if my child is isolating?
Please use Studybugs or call or email us to let us know this. If they are isolating but are well enough to complete schooling we will arrange to support them logging into lessons being delivered in the classroom and submitting work via Google classroom for their isolation period only.
Q4. Will my child have the same staff?
Generally yes. However due to the widening in the shielding category we now have more staff who are not allowed on site at the present time (they will be joining classes remotely). Therefore there may be some temporary changes until this restriction is lifted.
Q5. What are the start and end times?
From Monday the 8th March all year groups will return to their autumn start and end times and access gates (please see the table). This includes all children who are currently on site who should return to their normal times and gates.
Family groups should return to collecting their children from the agreed gate at the agreed times they were using in the autumn term. Lexia groups should start at their normal times
|Year Group||Gate to use||Start Time||End Time|

Q6. Will the breakfast club be running?
Yes breakfast club will be running and we will send out further details later this week.
Q7. What about safety?
The school’s COVID RA continues to be in place and is reviewed frequently in line with updated government guidance. The ‘bubble’ system will continue to be used so that children will not be mixing with others outside of their area bubble including at breaks and lunchtimes.
The only main change children may see since September is more adults wearing masks within our school (children will not be).
When waiting at the school gates we ask parents/carers to support our safety measures by :
- maintaining social distancing when queuing,
- keeping to your time slot for drop off and collection (to avoid bubbles mixing)
Q8. The school provided equipment (such as laptop or ukulele) during lockdown. What should I do with it?
We need to collect in all equipment issued as the children will need to be using them at times on site. We may also need to loan them out again to children if they are isolating or a bubble is popped.
Q9. What about Free School Meals?
Children will be eating in school and so no vouchers will be issued from March 8th.
Q10. Are there any other changes I need to know?
There are two diary changes we need to make you aware of:
INSET Day - Monday 19th April
Children will not be returning after Easter until Tuesday 20th April. This is because the INSET day we could not hold in January (as it needed to be face-to-face) has moved to Monday 19th April. Instead, on the January date, staff were online delivering lessons.
Polling station - Thursday 6th May
EWPS is used as a polling station and we have now been informed that local elections are being held as usual, so there will be no onsite school provision for this day. Work will be set by teachers for children to do at home. In accordance with our remote learning policy we will not be holding live lessons for this day due to the number of devices we would have to loan out and collect in to enable this to happen. However feedback will be provided for all work completed.
Q11. What is the most recent COVID guidance I need to follow for my family?
We have put the main link to guidance below but more can be found on our website or simply call or email us and we will signpost you to the information you need.
Gov Guidance: Click Here
Please remember that no adult or child should attend school if they or anyone in the household (or childcare support bubble) have:
- Had Covid symptoms in the last 10 days
- Required to quarantine having recently visited countries outside the Common Travel Area
- Had a positive test
Q12. I have a few more questions. Who can I ask?
If you have any further questions please contact the main office or email email@example.com and we will make sure someone contacts you.
